The Indiana Fever is having an exceptional season. While the team was not clicking at first, they have now turned into one of the most threatening teams in the league right now. All because they have found the chemistry they were lacking. Their golden rookie Caitlin Clark has also made some great fans in the process. Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, and her mermaid teammates Lexie Hull and Katie Lou Samuelson all became her close friends. Especially Hull. Hence, the Fever celebrated their shooting guard’s birthday on Friday with much pomp and show, leaving fans excited.

“That’s so cute!,” one fan commented on a video posted on the Indiana Fever’s official Instagram handle. The snippet showed the entire squad singing “Happy Birthday to you” while Clark did her playful antics. After a few seconds, the number one pick, surprisingly, lifted Hull in her arms as everyone clapped their hands. Definitely looks like a heartwarming moment between the athletes, who usually don’t get much time to share their personal lives with each other.

When Hull posted a video of Clark in a pool, while playing a game called “mermaid”, the duo was nicknamed the same by a fan on social media. Since then whether it is their basketball games, or their Mexico trip with Katie Lou Samuelson, the trio are often tagged by the “mermaid” nickname. Even when Hull posted pictures of the three from a mini cruise boat in Mexico, their teammate Aliyah Boston commented “The cutest mermaids 😍😍😍.” And this vacation surely looks to have brought a change also in their professional lives.

By the end of August after the Olympic break, Hull was given the onus of starting for the team. And the former Stanford star did not disappoint. Hull, perhaps, took inspiration from Clark and bettered her three-point shooting skills. As of now, she leads the league in shooting from beyond the arc, having shot 49.3%. So when during the Fever’s annual charity event, the 25-year-old was asked the recipe behind her success, a playful Clark gave a hilarious reply that “She started hanging out with me more.” This instance once again highlighted the bond shared by the duo and therefore, fans were excited when Clark celebrated her birthday.

Fans cheer for Lexie Hull and Caitlin Clark

“My God, how many millions of dollars do I have in my bank account, who do I send it to?,” one fan commented. The fan was happy to see the Fever stars rejoicing together, in what seemed to be a relishing once-in-a-lifetime moment. And the social media user’s reply definitely showed that.

“Everyone deserves a friend like Caitlin!,” another netizen commented. Notably, Clark is known for bonding well with her teammates. Previously during her four-year stint with the Iowa Hawkeyes, she had formed a close relationship with Gabbie Marshall and Jada Gyamfi and now she had formed a close bond with Hull.

“I vote for CC to always do the Birthday serenades 😊,||” Seeing Clark’s hilarious and cute performance, one follower went as far ahead as wishing that the Fever rookie did the serenades on everyone’s birthdays.

“this group >>>❤️💛,” one follower stated. After the Olympic break, the Fever seem to have found their chemistry. Clark’s passing abilities have resulted in Boston, Hull, and Mitchell making the best use of their talent. Perhaps, it is this bonding that has changed their on-court destiny.

“Didn’t know Caitlin Clark was that strong 😳😂😂😂,” meanwhile one fan applauded the fact that Clark, who is not known for her physicality, looked quite strong while lifting Hull. Perhaps, the fan expects it to also reflect on the court from here on.

While the Fever make merry right now, they have an important task ahead: to prepare for the playoffs to the best of their abilities. And hopefully, the Fever will be able to do this considering the strong bond they share.
