Don’t say it… don’t say it… don’t say it…

Caitlin Clark threw up a BRICK with a tee shot at the LPGA’s Annika pro-am on Wednesday. Get it? Brick? She plays basketball? Yup, we nailed that one.

Now that we’ve gotten the terribly obvious basketball pun out of the way, we might as well just show you the clip. Here’s Clark, who is not a professional golfer, nearly taking a number of fans’ heads off on Wednesday at Pelican Golf Club. As Happy Gilmore once famously said, they literally should not have been standing there:

Easy to laugh about now for those people with cat-like reflexes down the left side of the box, but that could have gone much worse. The most insane part is Clark reaching for another ball to reload and nobody who nearly got clocked in the head moving a single inch. At that point, you’re just asking to be hit.

We understand just how famous Clark is, but that doesn’t change the fact she’s a 16 handicap who on Tuesday said “If I can get in the 80s, I’m lucky, but usually I’m just trying to break 100.” Clearly, nobody surrounding the tee box read that quote.

Of course, proximity to Clark could lead to a little something like this:

Nice touch with the 22 balls. Now all this girl needs to do is get Clark to sign it and it’ll be worth a few bucks some day.

Good news is Clark’s reload found the fairway, though it looked like a low worm-burner that had to have those people standing down the left side re-thinking their choice to stand there for not one but TWO tee shots:

And just to be clear, she can play a bit. Here’s a solid swing a few holes later:
