It’s not easy to be a mother to a celebrity or superstar athlete, let alone two. Having said that, Donna Kelce really had it tough with two really popular sons in Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Philadelphia Eagles icon Jason Kelce.

In an interview with Glamour, the Kelce matriarch opened up about what it’s like to have kids who are really famous in the world of sports. When asked about what they have to give up along with the fame that comes with having NFL superstar kids, Donna Kelce shared that normalcy is one of the biggest things that are gone.

“Yeah, we can’t go anywhere really,” Donna Kelce shared. “It’s just, if we wanna do something, you have to run out the restaurant or the movie theater.

“I do, you know, get to sneak away every once in a while and we go to places that nobody knows where they are.”

Donna Kelce also shared that she has been stopped on a plane or whenever she’s walking down the street by people asking if she’s the mom of the Kelce brothers or by those who recognized her.

The 71-year-old added that most of her fan encounters have been great, with the supporters really respectful. Nonetheless, it has been really tough for her to just hide and have a normal day out considering how well-known she is.

“I’ve tried sunglasses but I’m just so tall and big. It’s hard to not notice me walk by,” Donna Kelce added. “I’m grateful that people know who I am and most of them are very, very respectful and it’s like, ‘We love your children.'”

Unfortunately for Mrs. Kelce, she has actually gotten more popular over the past year, especially after her son Travis Kelce started dating pop star Taylor Swift. The music icon has been spotted hanging out with her boyfriend’s mother in the Chiefs games she attended this 2024 season, bringing more attention to Donna Kelce.

Sure enough, Donna Kelce has already learned to embrace the popularity, although she might have to deal with more fan interactions moving forward.
