But it seems like the Grotesquerie star can soon add recording artist to that list.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end laid down some tracks on the upcoming holiday album “A Philly Special Christmas” put together by his brother, Jason Kelce, and fans can’t believe what they’re hearing after a snippet of Travis singing was shared on social media.
The Philadelphia-themed Christmas album’s Instagram account shared a clip of the song with the caption “Jason and Travis are back with a Christmas original this Friday with a little New Heights inspiration,” hinting towards the sampling of the introductory horns of their podcast in the song.
In the video, Jason talks to recording producers and engineers, telling them that he thinks “when Travis hears it he’s going to be very excited about it.”
As home videos of the Kelce brothers as young boys play, Travis can be heard singing “wandering the streets of my hometown, must have been years since I’ve been home” before Jason’s voice cuts in and the two harmonize on the line “in Cleveland Heights.”
Fans quickly jumped in the comments in amazement at Travis’ singing skills. “Is there anything that Trav cannot do? Everything this man touches turn to happiness, fun and magic 👏,” wrote one person, while another teased that “Blondie better watch out, he’s about to unseat her as the hitmaker in the relationship lol. 😅.”
More fans compared Travis to his pop superstar girlfriend, writing that “Taylor must be so proud of him,” and “I see Tay has been working with Trav.”
Others petitioned for a duet, writing, “Hear me out Taylor and Travis on a song together . 🔥🔥,” and joking that his new name should be “Travis Swift” or “Travis Bublé Kelce 🔥🙌.”
Some fans were convinced that they could hear Swift in the backing vocals, writing, “Is that TayTay on the ‘ahhah-ahhahh’ after ‘must’ve been years since I’ve been home’ 👀👀.” Others replied that they thought the same thing, with one person commenting that they “had to listen again and I think you may be right! 🙌,” and another sharing, “I swear to God that’s her. I’ve listened like 10 times, sounds just like our girl Tay.”
While the Instagram account responded to many of the comments to confirm that Travis was singing on the track, there was no response to whether or not Swift participated in the recording. However, it would not be unheard of for the “Cruel Summer” singer to help with background vocals for a boyfriend’s song as evidenced by her initially uncredited appearance in the 2016 Calvin Harris and Rihanna hit “This Is What You Came For.”
Swift wrote the song in 2015 under the pseudonym Nils Sjöberg and recorded some of the backing vocals that made it into the final version of the song but didn’t take credit for the song at first. In 2020, she told Paul McCartney in a conversation for Rolling Stone that “when a pseudonym comes in is when you still have a love for making the work and you don’t want the work to become overshadowed by this thing that’s been built around you, based on what people know about you.” Swift and Harris dated between 2015 and 2016.
“It’s Christmas Time (In Cleveland Heights)” will be available on streaming platforms on Nov. 1, with preorders for a limited-edition vinyl record of the album opening on the same day.
