Patrick Mahomes shared a little-known secret about teammate Travis Kelce in a post-game interview last night, and we can’t help but laugh. The quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs was fielding questions about the team’s win when he explained Kelce’s risky but exciting lateral throw. It was not the play that Mahomes had called.

But that’s exactly what makes Kelce just like one of his kids.

“I mean, I’m shaking my head because I told him before the play, ‘I’ll throw it to you so you can get in field goal range.’ And he underhand shoveled it across the entire field,” Mahomes said.

“It’s like I’m talking to Sterling,” he joked, likening Kelce to his 3-year-old daughter.

Apparently, the toddler isn’t a strong listener either. It must drive Mahomes and his wife Brittany up a wall, but we hope the little cutie’s rogue moments are as successful as Kelce’s pass.

Where Kelce’s personality is apparently in sync with Sterling Mahomes, we know Mahomes’ looks align with his 1-year-old son Bronze. A photo of a baby Patrick in his mom Randi’s home stopped us in our tracks because Bronze is truly his dad’s twin. One of the biggest things they have in common is something the Super Bowl winner felt the need to apologize for over the summer.

“Sorry for the hair bro,” Mahomes wrote over a photo of Bronze’s unruly hair, “runs in the family.”

Mahomes and Bronze have curls that – just like Kelce and Sterling – don’t always like to listen. They can stick out every which way, which is why Brittany is a big fan of Aunt Jackie’s Leave-In Conditioner for both her kids. The cult-favorite hair product is the key to the tamed and silky curls you see when the kiddos are on the NFL sideline.

The two are known for rocking custom Kansas City Chiefs gear alongside their mama while they cheer on their dad (and Sterling’s kindred spirit, Kelce!) during the football season. Next season, a third Mahomes baby will be in the family box! Over the summer, Brittany and Patrick announced Baby No. 3 was on the way. Soon after, Mahomes said this baby would officially complete their family.

“I’m done. I’ll say that,” he joked when asked about expanding his family. “I said three and I’m done.”
