The Kansas City Chiefs lead the Las Vegas Raiders 17-10 at halftime at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas behind a first-half touchdown pass by Patrick Mahomes and a one-yard run by Kareem Hunt.

The Chiefs took the opening drive of the game and marched 70 yards down the field in nine plays to set up a Kareem Hunt one-yard touchdown run. That was set up by passes from Mahomes of 13 yards to newcomer DeAndre Hopkins and 25 yards to tight end Travis Kelce on National Tight Ends Day. Mahomes went 4-for-4 for 58 yards on the drive.

The Raiders answered on the next drive with a seven-yard touchdown pass from Gardner Minshew to Jakobi Meyers that ended a 70-yard, 12-play series to tie the game at 7-7.

The Raiders added a 54-yard Carlson field goal early in the second quarter for a 10-7 lead.

The Las Vegas defense has held the Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense largely in check in the first half until with under two minutes to play, the Chiefs quarterback hit Kelce with a five-yard pass for a 14-10 lead.

Mahomes is 19-of-24 on the day with 192 yards passing and one touchdown, while Vegas quarterback Gardner Minshew is 9-of-11 for 101 yards and a touchdown. But the Chiefs answered with a Harrison Butker 42-yard field goal with just 0:04 left on the clock to get us to halftime.
