While Taylor Swift couldn’t cheer for him in person, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce put on his best performance of the season against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8.

Kelce registered 10 catches for 90 yards and his first touchdown of the 2024 season. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Kelce have now connected on 52 touchdowns throughout their career, which ranks third in QB-TE scores in NFL history.

Swift, however, had a very good reason for missing the Chiefs’ 27-20 win over the Raiders in Las Vegas, as she was performing her Eras concert tour at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

The 34-year-old pop star performed three-nights of sold-out shows at the home field of the New Orleans Saints. Following her final show on Sunday, the city shared some incredible news regarding the “Blank Space” singer.

Fox 8 reported on Oct. 28 that Swift’s layover in The Big Easy was incredibly lucrative for the city. With over 160,000 visitors traveling into the metro area just for the Eras tour, Greater New Orleans, Inc. revealed she raked in than $500 million for the city.

With over 200,000 tickets sold for the three shows, tourism boomed. Hotel occupancy was at 100% on Friday and Saturday.

“I think we weren’t ready for how much her fans were going to really love being in New Orleans, and they did,” Matt Wolfe, senior vice president of communications at GNO Inc, told Fox 8.

While some Saints fans weren’t thrilled at seeing the Caesars Superdome draped with friendship bracelets, the city loved it, as did Swifties.

And It’s not just Swift who dominated New Orleans this month. Kelce and the Chiefs defeated the Saints 26-13 on “Monday Night Football” at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 5.

Next up, the Eras tour moves on to Indianapolis while Kelce and the Chiefs prepare to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9.
