Nearly everyone on social media sided with ESPN analyst and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce for smashing a fan’s phone on the ground after he was harassed while walking around Penn State’s campus on Saturday.

Social media was flooded with videos of an unknown heckler following Kelce around asking him for a fist bump. When Kelce ignored him and continued walking, another fan could be heard shouting “Hey Kelce, how does it feel that your brother is a [expletive] dating Taylor Swift?”

Kelce turned around, grabbed the heckler’s phone and smashed it on the ground before walking away with it. The fan tried to get his phone back, to which he and Kelce got into another verbal altercation with Kelce responded with “Who’s the [expletive] now?”

After hearing about the incident, both Travis Kelce and Swift have Jason’s back as well, believing his actions to be completely justified given the fan’s use of a homophobic slur, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

“Taylor and Travis were both really shocked by this considering Jason is one of the nicest guys in the world,” a source told the Daily Mail. “It really became clear how much he loves and respects Taylor. Travis means the world to him. The use of the word [expletive] is not okay with him nor anyone. This fan crossed the line. Jason will never stand for anyone insulting his family and he views Taylor as family now.”

Jason’s employer, ESPN, is aware of the incident and his actions but declined to comment on what happened, per Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports.

It’s not known if the network plans to discipline him for the incident, but given the amount of public support he’s received in the hours since, it’d be surprising if he faced any punishment.
