To say that Caitlin Clark had an incredible rookie campaign would be an understatement. The former Iowa superstar entered the league as the Indiana Fever’s No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, and she had some massive expectations to live up to.

Now that her first year in the league is officially done, it would probably be safe to say that not only has she lived up to the hype, but to a certain extent, she’s exceeded it.

Players from around the league have definitely taken notice. So much so, that the Fever have supposedly gotten calls from opposing players about wanting to get the opportunity to suit up alongside Clark in Indiana.

Fever general manager Lin Dunn made this revelation during an interview on 107.5 The Fan on Wednesday.

“We’re already starting to hear some initial conversation with (agents of) free agents letting us know that their player might be available for a trade or they might be available in free agency, and that they would love to play with Clark,” Dunn said.

As Dunn revealed, it isn’t just free agents who have shown an interest to play with Clark. According to the high-ranking Fever executive, they’ve also gotten calls from agents who are letting Indiana know that their respective clients could be available via trade.

Unfortunately, Dunn did not drop any names, which will leave the fans guessing. Either way, the Fever GM did indicate that there are multiple players who have already reached out to Indiana about this prospect.

As made clear by this revelation, the Caitlin Clark effect isn’t exclusive to the supporters. Even players from around the league have felt the massive impact the 22-year-old has had on the game, and it isn’t at all surprising that some of them want a piece of it.
