Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark’s WNBA rookie season came to an end on Sept. 25 after being knocked out of the WNBA playoffs by the Connecticut Sun.
Clark’s rookie season was nothing short of spectacular. The All-Star finished her 2024 campaign averaging 19.2 points per game, 5.7 rebounds and a league-leading 8.4 assists en route to being named WNBA Rookie of the Year over the Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese.
On Wednesday, Clark added another accolade to her resume as the league announced the former Iowa Hawkeyes sensation has been named to the All-WNBA first team.
Joining Clark on the team are Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson, Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier, New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart and Connecticut Sun forward Alyssa Thomas.
In addition to being named to the All-WNBA first-team, the honor is also accompanied by prize money, according to IndyStar Sports’ Chloe Peterson.
All five members of the first team are set to receive $10,300 each. The second team, which was comprised of Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones of the Liberty, Kahleah Copper of the Phoenix Mercury, Nneka Ogwumike of the Seattle Storm, and Arike Ogunbowale of the Dallas Wings, will receive $5,150 in prize money.
In April, after being selected No. 1 overall in the 2024 WNBA draft, Clark signed a four-year rookie contract worth $338,056. A little over a week later, Clark inked an eight-year, $28M deal with Nike. In addition to Nike, Clark also has endorsement deals with major brands like Gatorade, State Farm, Panini America, Wilson and others.
Clark’s popularity also made a significant impact on the WNBA’s financial growth in 2024. The Fever consistently sold out arenas across the league, while other teams saw a significant rise in attendance thanks to the newfound success.
Of the 67 votes, Clark received 52 votes for the first team and 14 for the second. This would mean that 66-of-67 voters picked Clark to make one of the teams, but just like the Rookie of the Year voting, she missed the unanimous selection by one. Overall, Clark received 302 points, good for fourth in the All-WNBA rankings.
