Taylor Swift could not help but get emotional on Friday as she kicked off the final leg of her world-renowned “Eras Tour” concert series. Her performance in Vancouver on Friday was the first of three shows in the city. She takes the stage again on Saturday night before officially closing out the near-two-year, five-continent tour on Sunday.

At one point in the show, Swift opened up to the capacity crowd at BC Place. The 34-year-old shared how her ever-loving fans influenced her decision to go on tour for such an extended period.

“I’ve never played more shows on tour or toured longer than I have with the Eras Tour,” Swift told the audience, per Us Weekly. “There are so many reasons for that, like, nobody’s backstage saying, ‘You gotta do more shows.’ I decided to make this tour the longest I’ve ever done because you have made this feel like so much more than a concert tour in so many ways.”

The “Fortnight” singer then went on to make an emotional admission about how performing for her supporters during her shows takes her to a special place unlike anything she’s ever been to.

“I’ve been going on tour since I was 15 years old, and this has felt different in every single way,” she said. “It’s felt like this escape to a planet where nothing but joy and passion and togetherness and camaraderie exists every night coming out to these crowds.”

According to a previous report, Swift is already feeling “super emotional” now that her tour is coming to a close. She anticipates that this will be a difficult transition for her, which is why she’s leaning on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, now more than ever.

The three-time Super Bowl champion has been very supportive of her girlfriend’s work. He’s attended multiple “Eras” shows over the past year or so despite his busy schedule.

This included a quick trip to Indianapolis to watch his girlfriend perform at the Lucas Oil Stadium on Nov. 2. The nine-time Pro Bowl tight end then had to fly back to Kansas City to take part in the Chiefs’ Nov. 4 home matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

This past Thanksgiving, Swift and her parents reportedly hosted Kelce and his family in the Grammy Award-winning singer’s Nashville home. Kelce then had to make the trip back to Kansas City after the feast, with the Chiefs in action on Black Friday against the Raiders again.

Kelce will now need to provide even more support for Swift now that her tour is ending. She already knows that the transition won’t be easy, and Kelce is expected to play a major role in this crucial juncture not only in her career but in her life as well.
