Turkish shooter is causing a global stir with his cool demeanor at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The fever created by shooters at the 2024 Paris Olympics has not yet cooled down. After the extremely cool moments of shooter Kim Ye-ji (Korea) went viral on social networks, recently, a shooter from Turkey also made fans around the world admire because of his extremely attractiveness. 

A widely circulated photo, attracting more than 50 million views on Twitter, captured the calm demeanor of air shooter Yusuf Dikec (51 years old, Turkey) when competing in the 10m air pistol team event. Notably, Dikec did not wear goggles, lenses and specialized ear protection – which all other shooters at the Olympics do. Instead, he only wore normal glasses like at home and regular earplugs but still radiated a “legendary aura”, defeating most of his opponents.

Yusuf Dikec captured the spotlight with his dignified demeanor, standing straight, one hand in his pocket, the other holding a gun tightly. The shooter looked like a neighborly uncle strolling into the Olympic stadium, but also like a stern boss, completely in control and unflinching in the high-pressure final match.

Yusuf Dikec and his teammate Sevval Ilayda Tarhan finished second in the final, bringing home a historic silver medal for their country. The Turkish pair went head-to-head with Serbia’s Damir Mikec and Zorana Arunovic. The competition was dramatic, fierce and tense. Dikec and Tarhan missed out on the gold medal by a narrow margin of 14-16. Despite finishing second, their performance was nothing short of spectacular.

Despite being 51 years old and participating in the Olympic Games for the fifth time, since the 2008 Beijing Games, this was Dikec’s first medal at the Games. The silver medal also made history as the first Olympic medal won by Turkey in shooting. It was a proud moment for Turkish athletes and a milestone in the country’s Olympic journey.
