Prince Harry encourages WellChild awards nominations
Prince Harry has issued a heartfelt plea in a new video message that urges people to nominate for this year’s WellChild Awards 2025.
Speaking on the porch at his home in Montecito, California, Prince Harry, dressed in a loose cotton shirt with the top button undone, and spoke passionately about the charity of which he has been patron for more than 15 years.
The WellChild Awards is a prestigious annual event which celebrates the inspirational qualities of the UK’s seriously ill children and young people and the dedication of those who go that extra mile to make a real difference in their lives.
Prince Harry encouraged people to “nominate the exceptional people who inspire you” and added it was a “true privilege to honour the bravery and compassion of this incredible community”.

Last year’s event saw children, young people, parent carers, nurses and other professionals who work with seriously ill children attend an awards event at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in central London.
Celebrity guests at the 2024 awards included: KSI, Oti Mabuse, Rod Stewart and Pixie Lott.

The Chief Executive of the organisation, Matt James, said this year, which marks the 20th WellChild Awards celebrates “extraordinary resilience” of children and young people, with the awards providing a “unique platform” to raise awareness of the challenges young people face.
WellChild is asking people to consider if they know someone who deserves special recognition, and to nominate them for a WellChild Award by visiting its website here.
