Cardi B Addresses Claims About Divorce From Offset: ‘This Is Getting Weird’

Cardi B is hitting back at people who claim to know what really sparked her to file for divorce from Offset.

On Saturday, August 3, People published a statement from an “exclusive source” who offered insight into why the superstar couple finally broke up for good. The source said, Cardi B “filing for divorce again wasn’t an easy decision” for her. “She has two kids already, is pregnant and is also a working mom. She’d love to have a great marriage too, but she needs to end it.” The source also reportedly told the outlet that Offset was “unsupportive” during their marriage — a claim that Cardi herself has denied.

“Ok this is getting weird cause I can say he helps me a lot with my business and the kids,” she wrote in the comment section of The Jasmine Brand. “Never in my career no matter what I went through I had friends or family go to the media sooo I don’t know who is this damn source going to people magazine. Even wit my filling I’m not askin for child support my claim is for him to only pay for the bills he already pays on the kids and the new one.”

Cardi B reportedly filed for divorce from Offset last Thursday. It was the third time the couple split up but sources told outlets like TMZ and Page Six she’s serious. The “Enough” rapper has already hired a divorce attorney and is seeking primary custody of their two children, Kulture and Wave, as well as their incoming child. Soon after the news about her divorce broke, Cardi took to Instagram and announced she is pregnant with the couple’s third child together.

“With every ending comes a new beginning!” she wrote in the caption. “I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion!”

Cardi B and Offset had been together since 2017. They planned to split for the first time in 2018 but worked things out, especially after Kulture was born. In 2020, Cardi filed for the divorce for the first time, but she retracted the paperwork after they reconciled once again. The couple seemed to be doing better. They welcomed their son Wave and even dropped music together. Then, Cardi B claimed she broke up with Offset again last December. She apparently tried to work it out with him again, but now it seems like the couple are done.
