Harry plots next move to secure future for Meghan, Archie and Lilibet

Prince Harry is said to be focusing on his next move, which is continuing with the legal fight for his family’s security protection while they’re in the UK, claims a friend of the Duke.
A friend of the Duke of Sussex claimed Harry is keen to “ensure the safety of himself and his family” while in the UK.

Harry’s lawyers are set to appeal a High Court judgment which upheld a Home Office decision to downgrade his security provision in the UK when he stepped back as a senior working royal in 2020.
According to a friend of Prince Harry, “the goal is simple”. They told Hello! Magazine: “He wants to ensure the safety of himself and his family while in the UK so his children can know his home country and so he can help support his patronages and their important work.”
Meghan Markle has not visited the UK for a long period of time since the late Queen’s funeral on September 19, 2022. Harry has not brought his children to the UK since the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, meaning the King has met his youngest granddaughter Lilibet only once in person.
Prince Harry first took legal action against the Home Office in 2020 over a decision that he should receive a different degree of taxpayer-funded protection after he and wife Meghan quit royal duties. The decision to downgrade his security in February 2020 was taken by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) – which has delegated responsibility from the Home Office.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie could step up for Royal Family – expert
Prince Andrew’s daughters could undertake some official roles this year, according to a royal expert.
Princesses Beatrice, 36, and Eugenie, 34, are nieces of King Charles but are not working royals.
The sisters and their families live more ordinary lives, earning a living for themselves and not benefiting from taxpayer-funded security.
Although the sisters seem to be happy as they are, one royal expert believes they could soon be recruited to step up for the Royal Family if the King’s idea of a slimmed-down monarchy does not work as planned.

Prince Harry’s response on possibility of returning to royal life
Prince Harry has been living in the US for almost five years after he and his wife Meghan Markle quit as senior working royals — but some fans hope he will still one day return to life in the UK.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, says he is “grateful” to be raising Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in the US, but his increasingly frequent solo engagements in the States have raised hopes he might seek a different life.
Some fans believe Prince Harry misses the royal role he once had, but the Duke appeared to scotch such suggestions when interviewed in 2023.
When promoting his controversial memoir Spare in a TV interview on Good Morning America, host Michael Strahan asked whether Harry and Meghan could ever return as senior working royals.
Prince Harry immediately gave the 11-word response: “No, I don’t think it is ever going to be possible.”

Princess Kate offered chance to appear on cover of Vogue
The Princess of Wales has been offered the chance to appear on the cover of magazine Vogue to showcase her major role as a “global fashion icon”, it has been reported.
As reported by the Mail on Sunday, Anna Wintour – who is often described as the most powerful woman in the world of fashion – is said to have personally sent the offer to the royal.
With the offer said to have been made in the past few days, the Mail shared that Kate would be able to choose her own photographer, be in charge of styling and, lastly, decide whether she wants to do an interview for the magazine.
Almost nine years on from her first appearance on British Vogue in 2016, it has been reported that offer includes global covers – including both the UK and the US.

Prince Harry’s US visa application back under spotlight
Prince Harry’s US visa application is set to return under the spotlight.
An American think tank called The Heritage Foundation has reopened its case to have Prince Harry’s immigration papers made public after they believe he may have been unfairly granted entry into the US.
And a lawsuit aiming at the release of the secret documents will have its first court hearing since Donald Trump took office next month.

Princess Kate’s job at university
The Princess of Wales previously held down a waitressing role whilst studying at the University Of St Andrews.
Although she has had a few jobs prior to officially joining the Royal Family in 2011, including working as an accessories buyer at Jigsaw, she also held a little known role as a waitress whilst at university.
Kate previously opened up about her part-time role while appearing on the BBC special A Berry Royal Christmas in 2019, where she appeared alongside Prince William and Mary Berry.
After serving mocktails at a dry bar organised by the charity Action on Addiction, Kate told Mary that “it reminded me of my university days when I did a bit of waitressing”.

Meghan Markle and Harry doing ‘right thing’ by not responding to accusations – expert
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been praised by the late Queen’s former communications secretary for a key move they have made over the last week.
Earlier this month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were faced with fresh accusations after a damning Vanity Fair article was published.
While behind closed-doors the couple have reportedly dismissed these accusations and are said to find them “distressing”, they have decided to keep quiet when it comes to publicly addressing the claims.
Although some people have slated them for this, royal PR expert and former communications secretary to the late Queen, Ailsa Anderson, believes that not addressing it is the “right” thing to do.
She told a recent episode of Hello!’s A Right Royal Podcast: “If you start adding fuel to the fire, then you’re just elongating a story. So, I think there are times to stand up and be counted, and there are times to say nothing.”

Queen Elizabeth II saved Meghan from breaking royal protocal
When Meghan Markle joined the Royal Family in 2018, she was criticised for occasional breaches of royal protocol—moments scrutinised closely by observers and royal enthusiasts alike.
One such moment occurred when Meghan broke tradition by entering a car before Queen Elizabeth II, sparking debates about the rigidity of royal traditions and the pressures faced by new members of the family.
The Duchess of Sussex went on her first royal engagement with the Queen in June 2018 in Cheshire for a day that included community events, a walk through town and a bridge opening.
As the pair prepared to get into the late Queen’s Bentley after disembarking from the royal train, there was a moment of confusion as Meghan appeared unsure who should get into the car first.
Fortunately, for Meghan, the late Queen guided Meghan, offering a three-word remark: “You go first.” This showed that the Duchess did not in fact break royal protocol, she was simply following the monarch’s request.

Prince William shares daily conversation he has with his three children
Prince William took a train to Liverpool on Thursday for a series of royal engagements, where he gave a new insight into the lives of his three children.
While meeting local primary school children outside the Tiber Football Centre in Toxteth, the prince revealed one conversation he has with his own children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, after school each day.
His three children currently attend Lambrook School in Berkshire, just a short drive away from the family’s Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Castle estate. It is believed William, 42, and Princess Kate, 43, do the school run most days.
Prince William told school children he met on Thursday that he asks his own children if they have had a good day at school everyday and what they have learnt.
The future King then revealed that all three of them have a response similar to thousands of others across the globe, as they simply just say “nothing”.

Everything you need to know about the Invictus Games 2025
With just under two weeks to go until the start of the 2025 Invictus Games, Prince Harry will no doubt be busy preparing for the big event behind the scenes.
Although the Duke of Sussex, 40, is no longer a working royal, the prince continues to be in charge of the Invictus Games organisation, which he launched in 2014 after serving in Afghanistan.
As well as being an opportunity for men and women who serve in the armed forces and veterans to come together and enjoy sports competitively, the Invictus Games Foundation also helps people who were injured in conflict to move forward and focus on their recovery and future.
While the Invictus Games is Harry’s own project, his wife Meghan Markle, 43, often attends the events with him, with a source close to the couple claiming that it will be the same this year.

Prince William’s touching tribute to one royal relative
Prince William made sure to pay tribute to one very special person when discussing those “who risked their own lives to help and save others” at the Holocaust ceremony on Monday evening.
With a surprise appearance from the Princess of Wales, William gave a moving speech at the ceremony, which marked the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
William made a special mention of his great-grandmother, Princess Alice of Battenberg, the mother of William’s late grandfather, Prince Philip.
Princess Alice, whose remarkable life was played out in Netflix’s The Crown, had been living—at the time of World War II—in the Athens palace of Prince George of Greece.

Duchess Sophie’s comment about Meghan Markle
Duchess Sophie has been a member of the Royal Family for almost 26 years and appears to be more popular now than ever before.
Even though Prince Edward’s wife has been a working royal for over a quarter of a century, her efforts have not always been as well publicised as other members of the Firm.
In 2018, attention was very much focused on Meghan Markle when she married Prince Harry.
So when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior working royals in 2020, Sophie gave a cutting eight-word response when asked if she and Prince Edward would be stepping up their duties to fill the void left by Harry and Meghan.
“What did people think we were doing beforehand?” the Duchess of Edinburgh is reported to have said.

One drink Prince William enjoys every morning
Prince William’s dietary preferences often pique the public’s interst, as many wonder what it’s like to dine like a Royal. Interestingly, it seems that most people around the world begin their day in a similar fashion: with a glass of fruit juice.
According to The Royal Family Channel on YouTube, the future King typically accompanies his morning meal with a revitalising glass of apple juice. This is paired with some very basic staples, including two eggs, wholemeal toast with butter and a traditional cup of tea.
It’s no surprise that the health-conscious Royal chooses this nutritious start to his day, apple juice is brimming with benefits that extend beyond its flavour. As apples are predominantly water-based, consuming their juice is an excellent way to hydrate.

Meghan Markle has been praised by one of her close pals in a new book released just days after the latest wave of allegations against her emerged.
Her old pal, author and TV producer Lindsay Jill Roth, has paid a sweet tribute to her and praised their “unbreakable bond” in her new book’s acknowledgements section.
She wrote: “Meghan Sussex, Meg, to be sisters by choice, still thinking the same thing at the same time after all these years – no matter how many miles between us – is my favorite(sic) part of our unbreakable bond.
“There for each other always, sharing a deep loyalty and understanding – I could tell you anything, and it would be okay. I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart).”

Prince William all smiles as he visits farm
The Prince of Wales was all smiles today as he cut a casual figure during a visit to Hereford.
Prince William visited the Lower Blakemere Farm to learn more about how the multigenerational farm has refined regenerative farming practices and farm diversification as part of its journey to net zero.
The heir to the throne looked dapper in casual attire as he sported a grey flatcap, navy blue trousers which he paired with that looked like a navy blue quarter zip and a light blue shirt underneath.
To keep warm, William opted for a khaki jacket by Beretta.

Meghan Markle to attend Invictus Games with Prince Harry as couple adopt new PR strategy
Meghan Markle will join Prince Harry at next week’s Invictus Games in Canada, Express.co.uk has learned.
According to a well-placed source, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, decided to join her husband after PR firm Three Gate Strategies took over the couple’s communications earlier this month with a new direction.
Led by the couple’s former Head of Communications Ashley Hansen, the communications agency will push for a renewed focus on joint appearances and initiatives following months of solo engagements.
“There will be a renewed focus on the Sussexes as a couple, as a brand and showcasing them as a couple and family,” said the source.

The two young royals ‘willing’ to step up and help Prince William
Despite King Charles’s push for a slimmed-down monarchy, it is possible that under Prince William’s reign, he may call upon two young Royal Family members for help with duties in the future.
While his two youngest cousins, Lady Louise Windsor, 21, and James, Earl of Wessex, 17, are still in education, one expert has suggested that the pair could be on hand if so required.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror the two young royals might make their own decisions: “Edward and Sophie are keen that Louise and James should choose their own career paths.”
She added: “Sophie has said that she has brought them up to expect that they will have to pay their own way and make their own careers but I’m sure that if in the years to come, if cousin William needs a few extra hands to the pump at any stage, Louise and James will be willing to help.”

Princess Kate carefully curated her outfit on Holocaust Memorial Day and wore a fitting accessory when she stepped out with Prince William. The 43-year-old made a statement by donning faux pearls from a Jewish-owned brand.
Kate was praised for her compassion and affection when she spoke with Holocaust survivors alongside her husband, ahead of a ceremony to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. The couple met with around 50 survivors of the Nazi campaign as well as those of subsequent genocides at a reception at the Guildhall in the city on Monday afternoon.

The King, 76, flew to Poland for Holocaust Memorial Day on Monday and to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration camp.
His Majesty began the visit by attending Krakow’s Jewish Community Centre (JCC), a vital hub that fosters connection between the Jewish community and the city.
