1. Queen Elizabeth II never went to school
This may come as a surprise to most of us, but the Queen of England never went to school. That doesn’t mean she wasn’t educated. She and her sister, Princess Margaret, were privately tutored at the palace.
2. Join the armed forces during World War II
During World War II, Queen Elizabeth II joined the British armed forces and trained as a mechanic. She became the first queen to serve in the armed forces.
3. Have 2 birthdays
As a member of the royal family, the Queen celebrates her birthday twice a year. While her actual birthday is on April 21, which she usually spends with her family, her official birthday falls on the second Saturday in June.
4. Her husband – Prince Philip is her cousin
