After Simone Biles won her third gold medal in the 2024 Olympics, her husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, made sure to remind everyone how great the USA Gymnastics star is.

On his Instagram Stories, Owens doubled down on his belief that Biles is the gymnastics GOAT (Greatest Of All Time). While sharing a photo celebrating Biles’ latest victory, the NFL veteran captioned his post, “The best ever” along with a goat emoji. For what it’s worth Biles was already the most decorated gymnast in US history heading to the women’s vault final, and her win only further cemented her status as one of the best, if not the greatest to do it.

Simone Biles now owns seven gold medals, two silver and one bronze. Among all female gymnasts in history, she’s currently third in medal tally, behind Larisa Latynina who won 18 medals (πίne gold, five silver, four bronze) and Vera Caslavska with 11 (seven gold and four silver). Biles has two more events to compete in at the Olympics, so she has a chance to surpass Caslavska in the medal tally. As for Latynina, while breaking her record might be difficult, Biles can at least match her gold medal count. It remains to be seen if Biles can also capture gold in the balance beam and floor exercise finals. But if you ask Jonathan Owens, there’s no doubt in his mind that Biles is more than capable of sweeping the rest of the competition.
