Zack Snyder recently claimed during an interview that he plans to make a Director’s Cut of his 2011 flop, Sucker Punch, after his DCEU success.

Zack Snyder, the noted director popularly known for his work in the DCEU has lately claimed that he is trying to strike a deal with Warner Bros. to make a director’s cut of his 2011 loss, Sucker Punch. Considering Snyder’s history with director’s cuts, fans are divided, and although many of them are optimistic about the project, some are certainly against the notion of Sucker Punch‘s director’s cut.
Zack Snyder is a film director, producer, and screenwriter whose grasping and action-packed films capture the hearts of many. Zack Snyder Eyes Sucker Punch Director’s Cut After Justice League Success
After effectively delivering a director’s cut for Justice League, Zack Snyder longs to do the same for his 2011 flop, Sucker Punch. He claims that the 2011 film, was compromised during its filming, leaving him drastically unsatisfied. Moreover, the movie’s massive box office failure of making $89.7 million against its $82 million budget, leaves a sting he hopes a director’s cut can restore.
Sucker Punch
He claimed during an interview with Total Film that,
“Sucker Punch is probably the most obvious example of straightforward, pure satire that I’ve made. And I still think I didn’t go far enough, because a lot of people thought that it was just a movie about scantily clad girls dancing around in a brothel. I’m like, ‘Really? Did you see Watchmen?”
He also opened up during an interview with Inverse and claimed,
“I’m working with Warner Bros. to try and find a window to go back in. Even though we did an extended version, it’s not the fully realized movie.”
In any case, restoring the project will not be easy in any scenario. Reproducing a film, particularly a director’s cut requires huge investments, and studios might stutter given the film’s past performance. Recasting the cast and team following more than a decade is one more gigantic obstacle as many might already be working on other projects or they might not want to return for the film.

Many could feel assured in him after his work on the Justice League cut, but it eventually depends on Warner Brothers. to conclude whether Sucker Punch should get another shot. Regardless of their decision, the movie is close to Snyder, exhibiting his longing to share his actual vision and possibly reclaim a film he profoundly esteems.

The financial picture is hazy. HBO Max keeps viewership numbers near the chest, making it hard to say if it pulled in new endorsers or recently excited existing ones. However, during the release of the cut, overall activity on the platform did increase, indicating increased engagement. While it started conversations about creative liberty and fan power, its impact for the most part remained inside the comic book fandom.
Justice League (2017)
The Snyder’s Cut times in at a surprising 4 hours, double the length of the first. The first film pulled in millions at the box office, regardless of whether it wasn’t exactly the blockbuster everybody foresaw, and the Snyder Cut didn’t hit theaters, rather debuting on HBO Max. However, it achieved its prime goal of satisfying its devoted fanbase and all those who yearned for a Snyder comeback in DCEU.
