Vincent D’Onofrio’s has this thing. He doesn’t like if someone go against his artistic vision. His Daredevil co-star also shared an incident which shows that Marvel won’t likely oppose D’Onofrio again.

The recent release of Echo (Hawkeye‘s MCU spinoff), saw the return of Maya Lopez (portrayed by Alaqua Cox) also known as Echo—a key street-level MCU character with a tragic past—who has several connections to major Marvel heroes and villains.

Her chilling actions in New York City create shock waves in her hometown. There was also another return in the series, which was of Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.

He was established in Hawkeye who acted as an uncle to young Maya. His character is praised well by Jon Bernthal whose MCU debut rumors are spiraling.

Why? Because he loved the way D’Onofrio portrayed it. But he also revealed how the Godfather of Harlem star strongly opposed the directors and producers when they didn’t let him do his artistic vision.

There’s a rumor of Jon Bernthal’s debut in the Echo. Though, it’s unknown whether Bernthal will make his debut as The Punisher. Not in Echo but Daredevil: Born Again could also see the family man turned crime-fighting vigilante.

It’s not yet confirmed but fans are eager beaver for confirmation of his involvement in the projects. The actor has always openly expressed his desire to reprise the role of Frank Castle.

While not discussing the possibilities of the debut of his character in the interview with The Real Ones, he admired Vincent D’Onofrio‘s (who portrays Kingpin) performance in the role.

Speaking to Sarah Silverman, he asserted on sharing the screen with his co-star in Daredevil Season 2. He said that D’Onofrio strongly opposes those who go against his artistic vision.

“He’s so like, he’s so, if you are…an antithesis to what we are trying to do, like director, producer, if you are not part of the artistic journey, dude you are the f*ing enemy and he like, lets you know. I saw him like, just completely crumple Marvel execs on Daredevil.”

It shows that D’Onofrio is not just as tough as Kingpin but he’s also a sturdy guy in real life, too. So, does it really open the door for him being the next big bad in the MCU?

When Jon Bernthal saw D’Onofrio intensely portraying Wilson Fisk he said in The Real Ones, “It was like great, [I was like] ‘you’re my f*ing hero, dude. I try to do s* like that, but I’m way too nice. I can’t.” Even the actor who portrays Punisher himself told D’Onofrio got some guts to become the MCU’s next biggest antagonist.

It was also teased by Marvel’s production and development executive Brad Winderbaum in an interview with Screen Rant that Kingpin will be like the “Thanos of the street-level MCU.” Looks like Wilson Fisk is poised to become the Marvel spotlight’s “street-level” action.
