The 21-year-old student has been charged with 11 felonies in the case

Selena Gomez
A woman could face over nine years in prison for hacking Selena Gomez‘s email.
Susan Atrach is suspected of gaining access to the star’s iCloud and Yahoo accounts between June 2015 and February 2016, and sharing her private media online.
The 21-year-old New Jersey student has been charged with 11 felonies, according to the Los Angeles Times. They include five counts of identity theft, five counts of accessing and using computer data to commit fraud, and one count of accessing computer data without permission.
If she is found guilty on all charges, Atrach could be sentenced to nine years and eight months in prison.
According to sources with knowledge of the investigation, Atrach reset Gomez’s passwords by answering security questions that were based on information that could be found online. They added that Atrach did not make money out of hacking Gomez or send information to publications.
Atrach is expected to surrender and be arraigned in court by August 27. Prosecutors have recommended her bail be set at $250,000 (£190,000).
Gomez was the victim of another hacking in 2017 when someone posted naked photos of her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber to her Instagram account. The photos were taken by paparazzi when the ‘Sorry’ singer was on holiday in Bora Bora in 2015.
