Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill received support from his teammate, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, after a pregame police incident in which he was seen slammed to the ground and arrested.
The Dolphins’ season opener began with an unexpected arrest of Hill by Miami-Dade police near the team’s stadium—hours before the game.
He was reportedly held up due to a traffic violation, and things became hectic once officers were forced to rip from his vehicle and place handcuffs on him.
During his Y.T. car vlog for G.O.A.T. Farm Sports, Tagovailoa could not quite process the incident, saying, “Tyreek Hill being detained? Unbelievable, that’s crazy.”
“I think that was one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen. That’s like something I would see on a YouTube short that I watch.”
Tagovailoa watching his dynamic wideout lying face down on the ground in handcuffs was quite unsettling.
“Man, the dude was speeding all day today. Speeding before the game, speeding during the game. I hope he wasn’t speeding after the game,” Tua said.
During the game, Tyreek Hill logged seven catches for 130 yards and a touchdown, per his stats on ESPN.
The Dolphins will next play on Thursday at home against A.F.C. East foe Buffalo Bills.
Tyreek Hill Mocks Detainment In 80-Yard Touchdown Celebration
After being detained by police just before playing the Jaguars, Dolphins star Tyreek Hill did a handcuffs celebration after his touchdown.
Down 17-7 late in the third against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa finally unleashed a bomb to find Hill in stride for an 80-yard catch-and-run score.
He knew just what to do to celebrate.
Tyreek Hill went toward fans when fellow Dolphins wideout Jaylen Waddle came from behind and pretended to put handcuffs on him.
