Top Star Takes Shots at Dwayne Johnson’s Recent Return, Recalling Past Humiliation by The Rock

As the WWE Raw Day 1 rolled in, fans were treated to the return of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. WWE had promised that the first episode of the year would be a blockbuster and the company sure did deliver on their promise. On top of that, it is stated that his return might not be a one-off thing and he is here to stay. While everyone has their theories on why The Rock decided to go to the red brand, Austin Theory believes he has to do something with it.
Austin Theory calls out Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) Grayson Waller decided to share with Austin Theory that Dwayne Johnson has decided to join Raw. He wrote, “Hey @_Theory1! That flop (referring to The Rock) that you destroyed on the mic a few months ago ran away to Raw #WWERaw.” This was a hint to the moment from September when Johnson had gatecrashed the episode of SmackDown with Pat McAfee. To this, Theory replied, “He knows not to bring his goofy a*s back to SmackDown #SmackDown.”
On the September 15, 2023, episode of SmackDown, Johnson and Theory had a bit of a confrontation. The Brahma Bull entered the ring when Pat McAfee and Theory were exchanging verbal barbs. When Johnson entered the ring, he got into a heated argument with Theory which ended with Theory being on the receiving end of the People’s Elbow.
Later on, Johnson decided to sort things out with the 27-year-old star by giving him a present. However, it looks like Theory still wants to be in his character even when he is not in the ring.
While Theory has his crosshairs set on the Hollywood icon, Johnson might have a different motive behind returning to WWE.
Why did The Rock decide to return to WWE?
On the Day 1 episode, Johnson has hinted that this return is not going to be just a one-off. He has stated that his ultimate goal is to defeat Roman Reigns. It is not for the title but to prove who is the head of the table. On various occasions, The Tribal Chief has called himself as the head of the Anoa’i family. However, he had forgotten about The Great One.

The fight between the two will be for the mantle of tribal chief. However, when the fight between the two will happen has not been revealed yet. Looks like fans will have to wait and see the two confront each other and build the story up before they eventually face off. When do you think The Rock and Reigns will face each other? Do you think Austin Theory will play a major role in their fight?
