With Taylor Swift’s Eras tour coming up, fans are going to extreme lengths in an attempt to see the singer, including applying for jobs at stadiums she’s performing in.
A job at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia to work a merchandise stall during Swift’s concert has gone viral online, as keen Swifties grab at every opportunity to attend the sold-out shows.
The listing received mass attention online after a job board posted a video on TikTok advertising the position.
In the clip, a woman can be seen shocked, as she looks through the job ad, with the caption reading: “POV you just worked out you can see Taylor Swift in Melbourne for free!”

The job ad invites people to apply for multiple casual merchandising staff roles with Delaware North which include supervisors, sales staff, crowd control, and stock attendants.
Delaware North is a global hospitality and sports retail company, which is the newly appointed merchandise partner at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
The company will be setting up multiple temporary hubs primarily outside of the venue, selling merchandise to fans.

“Due to the size and staffing requirements of this event, these positions are employed to support the Taylor Swift concert only and there should be no expectation of ongoing work post this event,” the listing read.
To be considered for the role Swifties have to have prior experience in retail or high-volume events environment, as well as feel comfortable in large crowds.
Delaware North does not guarantee hired staff will be able to see the singer, as they warn Swifties: “As whilst we have some stalls on the inside of the venue, majority of the work will be outside of the stadium.”
The Taylor Swift casual job ad has received mass attention online with the TikTok receiving more than 200 thousand views, as keen fans take to comments to share their excitement – des[ite the job not being inside and having no way to see the singer.
“I SAW THAT ON SEEK AND SENT IN AN APPLICATION FASTER THAN HUMANLY POSSIBLE,” one person wrote.
“Praying for Sydney (job) to be announced soon,” chimed in another.
While a third Swiftie tagged her friend: “Should we just work it for Melbourne cos (cause) we don’t have tickets?”
The post also sparked attention from previous Delaware North employees, who took the opportunity to highlight the “reality” behind these job listings.
“Just so you know (Delaware North worker here!) if they see you or find out that you watched part of the concert or took photos, they can fire you,” one person wrote.
“Plus take away shifts. So don’t just apply to get that one event to think that u can watch or take photos while working,” replied another.
“All the people thinking they’ll be able to watch the concert not knowing how chaotic working in merch is,” a third person added.

A fourth person wrote: “You don’t get to see her. Only job where you will get to see her is to be a seat usher or a very lucky few security guards,” as a fifth person agreed: “You would be able to hear her but can’t go in.”
In a matter of four days, since the job ad has been up, Delaware North has advised they will be closing the listing earlier due to the vast amount of applications received.
“Due to the overwhelming amount of applications received, applications will close earlier than anticipated,” they wrote.
“Please also allow additional time to receive a response to your application.”
