Patrick J. Adams opens up and candidly shares whether his former Suits co-star Meghan Markle will ever return for the spin-off.

The hit television series Suits aired on USA Network more than a decade ago but remains one of the most-watched American legal drama series for its compelling storyline, charismatic characters, and intriguing legal elements. Thanks to its availability on platforms like Netflix, the show has felt a renewed resurgence and viewership promoting talks and rumors of a possible reboot or spin-off.

Recently at the Golden Globes 2024, the cast of Suits reassembled where Patrick J. Adams, who portrayed Mike Ross, got candid over the Suits spin-off situation and even spilled some tea about the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle’s return to the world of acting.

Patrick J. Adams starrer Suits is still riding high on the sea of popularity, with hundreds of viewers tuning in to stream the popular legal drama (via ScreenRant). Considered to be one of the top legal drama series of all time (via IMDb), fans of the show have been for ages demanding a reboot or spin-off based on some of the popular characters of the show.

While one spin-off titled Pearson only lasted one season, there was news of another spin-off being planned back in October 2023 (via Deadline). And now when the cast of the hit show recently reconnected at the 2024 Golden Globes Awards, Adams stated that Suits showrunner Aaron Korsh is reportedly working to bring it back (via E! News).

“We found out about — well, it’s not a revival — but a ‘Suits’ spinoff. I think it’s all in early stages. But what did they say? It’s a show in the ‘Suits’ universe. Like a ‘Suits L.A.’. Anyway, our fearless show-runner Aaron’s working on that.”

Although he maintained that the producers haven’t revealed much info to the cast, the spin-off would be set up within the Suits’ world.

Will Meghan Markle Be Returning For Suits Spin-Off?

Meghan Markle portrayed the role of Rachel Zane, a titular character who played a pivotal role in the Suits’ success as well as contributed heavily to the show’s narrative arc and overall storyline. So, to have a Suits spin-off without the Duchess would feel extremely lacking and almost colorless.

While talking to E! News, Patrick J. Adams was asked the million-dollar question of whether his on-screen wife will be returning in the Suits spin-off,

“Sure. Mike and Rachel in Seattle. They gotta come down to L.A., they gotta fix some stuff.”
Remarked Adams about his and Markle’s characters, however, he later added and joked
“She’s [Markle] pretty popular right now. Did you hear about Meghan? I’ll tell you later.”
After his statements, it seems unlikely that Markle will ever return for the spin-off. However, as for the rest of the cast and Adams, the actor stated that if he ever got a call, he’d jump right on the wagon for he loves the show, the character, the cast, and the crew.

As we await further news of the spinoff, Suits can be streamed on Netflix.
