Selena Gomez knows just what she wants in a relationship.
The Only Murders in the Building actress, 31, who recently went public with music producer Benjamin Joseph Levin (known professionally as Benny Blanco), is opening up about her new romance.
On Thursday, Vogue México y Latinoamérica published an interview with Gomez where she revealed what matters most when trusting someone with her heart.
Without name-dropping her new beau, 35, she said self-respect and holding space for the feelings of others are a top priority on her list for any partner.
“Honestly, I have to start being attracted to the right kind of people, because it’s a bit of both,” the “Love You Like a Love Song” singer said in the interview that has been translated from Spanish to English.
“It’s very hard to find someone who can listen to you and care about you, but I know when it happens it will be great and you will want it to be healthy,” Gomez added.
While Gomez previously revealed she and Blanco have been dating for about six months, the two have known each other longer than that.
In 2019, he worked with her on her single “I Can’t Get Enough.” In addition to producing the song, Blanco also sang the English-Spanish track alongside Gomez, Tainy, and J Balvin.
Earlier this month, the pair went public when the “Come & Get It” hitmaker used social media for the big reveal.

“He is my absolute everything in my heart,” she wrote in the comment section of an Instagram post after a fan account shared a photo of the two. The interaction was screenshotted and shared via PopCrave on Dec. 7.
Soon after, Gomez uploaded a black-and-white photo of her hand to her Instagram Story. In the picture, she showed herself wearing a diamond ring with the initial “B” on it.
On another Instagram post shared by a fan account on Nov. 25, the user uploaded a carousel of images that began with a photo of the Wizards of Waverly Place alum standing with Blanco.

The post received mixed reactions from her supporters, and Gomez stepped into the comments once again to address the critics.
“Not mad. It’s been 6 months bb. I will always defend my friends, family and fans till the day I die,” she wrote in response to an individual who suggested that she stop sharing photos of herself and Blanco if she couldn’t handle the naysayers.
Since then, the “Can’t Keep My Hands to Myself” singer and Blanco have been cozying up to one another ahead of the Christmas holiday.
“New York, my favorite moments w you this week 🤍,” she captioned an Instagram carousel last week. The first image showed the Rare Beauty mogul laughing as she spent time with gal pal Taylor Swift.
In the next image, Gomez was joined by several friends for a group shot that featured Blanco giving her a hug from behind.
