Last night, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco stepped out for their first public appearance since confirming their months-long romance at the Lakers vs. Heat game. And while most people would see this as an opportunity to show off their coordinating couple’s style, Selena and Benny couldn’t be dressed more different.

Leaning into the “opposites attract” adage, the singer and the music producer went in two separate directions completely with their courtside looks. Selena, for her part, went the minimalist route with a chic black-and-white color-blocked trench coat from Ronny Kobo, which she wore over a black top and black trousers. She accessorized with silver metallic boots and a matching pair of big hoops while styling her hair in bouncy curls.
Meanwhile, Benny was his girlfriend’s sartorial opposite in a loud pink-and-orange floral puffer coat paired with a white T-shirt, light-colored cropped pants, and Crocs. His jewelry was even the reverse of Selena’s, as he layered on piles of gold necklaces and bracelets.

Despite their polar opposite outfits, Selena and Benny were on the same page when it came to PDA. Throughout the game, the pair held hands with intertwined fingers, and at one point, Benny sweetly kissed the back of Selena’s palm. Another candid on-camera moment caught the Only Murders in the Building star checking her phone with her arms locked inside Benny’s while resting her head on his shoulder.
Back in December, Gomez revealed that she and Blanco have been quietly dating for six months. According to a source at Entertainment Tonight, she finally felt comfortable enough to go public with their relationship. “She feels so safe and secure with him, so she felt like it was a good time to share how happy she is with her fans,” the insider explained. “Benny is a great communicator, is honest and open with Selena, and listens to her. He’s respectful, isn’t a player, and not in it for the attention or fame. He doesn’t care about any of that and Selena sees that and really trusts him.”
