Jennifer Lopez made an appearance at the 81st Golden Globe Awards which was held on January 8, 2024. The actress came to support her husband Ben Affleck as his film Air was nominated for Best Picture- Musical or Comedy. Lopez had a rather awkward interview when she was asked a question about her marriage to Affleck.

On the red carpet, the actress was questioned by Variety about the longevity of her marriage by asking “So how do you know your last wedding is it? Lopez’s discomfort is clearly seen, but she managed to answer by pointing out that she goes with the best of intentions whenever she commits to something. She said,

“Because when they say, ‘You know,’ you know. And other times when you didn’t know. I think you always go in with the best of intentions every single time that you leap into anything. I do, not just in my personal life but in my professional life too.”

The media and paparazzi should steer away from being intrusive to one’s personal life and their struggles. The question was disrespectful and reporters should rather focus more on the work and professional life of artists.

In the past few months, the paparazzi have been covering various photos of ‘Sad Affleck’ where actor Ben Affleck is captured going about a day in his life and always looking sad or dejected. The Sad Affleck memes have been everywhere (via Buzzfeed) and Jennifer Lopez was asked recently about these photos and her husband’s expressions.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the actress told everyone not to worry and assured that Affleck is happy and contended in his life. She also stated that she doesn’t quite understand the appeal of the memes that fans are making of her husband. She said,

“Ben is doing alright. You don’t need to worry about Ben, let me just tell you. He is good. He is happy. He is here — he is nominated. I’m chilling, I don’t understand what people are so pressed for.”

Lopez is set to release her ninth music album this February titled This is Me…Now, which will be a sequel to her 2002 album This is Me…Then. Affleck, on the other hand, is producing many upcoming films under his banner Artists Equity including Cillian Murphy’s Small Things Like These, Matt Damon’s The Instigators, and Lopez’s Unstoppable.
