Selena Gomez seemingly told her pal Taylor Swift that she asked to take a picture with Wonka star Timothee Chalamet at the Golden Globes, but his girlfriend Kylie Jenner told her “no”.

Selena Gomez has sent fans into a frenzy after she sparked speculation with friend Taylor Swift at the Golden Globes after seemingly asking Timothy Chalamet for a picture. Selena, 31, and Taylor, 34, were spotted having an animated conversation at their table on Sunday night.

During the awards, which celebrate excellence in film and television, Selena appeared to explain that she asked Wonka star Timothee, 28 for a snap, but was rebuked by his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.

Footage shows the pair sat alongside Miles Teller’s wife Keleigh Sperry having an animated chat. Selena appears to say: “I asked for a picture with him and she (kylie jenner) said no.” Taylor then looked shocked before quizzing: “With Timothee?”, and Selena nodded.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, people were quick to analyse the clip.

Back in 2019, Selena and Timothee starred as love interests in Woody Allen’s film A Rainy Day In New York. But with Kylie and Selena’s turbulent history, that may have been why.

In the past sister Kim Kardashian has had an ongoing public feud with Selena’s best mate Taylor.

And Selena has also had a complex past with ex Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey – who is close with both Kylie and Kendall Jenner.

Replying to the video, one fan wrote: “Selena so real. Whenever something happens to me I’m running straight to my girls.”

Another said: “She was making sure to YELL that loud so everyone could hear her lmfaoooo” while a third typed: “I just love Taylor’s face.”

A fourth chimed in: “Selena with the gossip… It was so clear though. You can clearly hear the name from Keleigh.”

Meanwhile, another wrote: “Why I think this tea is about Timothée not greeting Selena even if they’re friends because of Kylie?”

They continued: “There’s another angle when you can tell the other girl is saying ‘noo Timothée?’.”
