‘I love you so much’: Kairo Forbes b-day tribute to Nadia Nakai

DJ Zinhle and AKA’s daughter Kairo Forbes penned a sweet birthday tribute to her late dad’s girlfriend Nadia Nakai.

Kairo Forbes, the daughter of slain rapper AKA and DJ Zinhle shared a sweet birthday tribute to her dad’s girlfriend at the time of his death, rapper Nadia Nakai on Thursday 18 May.

Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known as AKA, was shot dead outside of Wish restaurant on Florida Road, Durban on 10 February, along with his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

KAIRO FORBES’ SWEET BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE TO NADIA NAKAI

Seven-year-old Kairo Forbes is possible the glue to her blended family. She is the daughter of DJ Zinhle and slain rapper AKA.

AKA and DJ Zinhle were rumoured to be romantically linked from 2012 but only made their relationship public in 2014. Zinhle reportedly accused AKA of cheating on her with media personality Bonang Matheba in 2015 and called it quits. In July 2015, AKA and Zinhle welcomed Kairo Forbes.

The pair reportedly got back together in 2018 but broke up again in 2019. AKA then began dating Anele “Nelli” Tembe, who tragically passed away on 11 April 2021, just two weeks after the rapper paid lobola for her.

Nelli plunged to her death from the tenth floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town. Towards the end of 2021, AKA moved on with rapper Nadia Nakai. While DJ Zinhle reportedly began dating musician Bongani Mohosana, popularly known as Murdah Bongz in 2020, who she shares one-year-old Asante Mohosana with.

Since AKA’s death, Nadia has been spending lots of time with Kairo as well as DJ Zinhle and Murdah Bongz. On Nadia’s birthday, Kairo took to Instagram to wish her with a sweet message. She shared a photo of herself with Nadia and her mom.

“Happy Birthday Nadia! 🌸I love you sooooooo much 💜🤗,” she captioned the post.

“Love you too! My favourite girl! ❤️,” commented Nadia.

LYNN FORBES REVEALS AKA’S LAST IN-PERSON CONVERSATION WITH KAIRO

AKA’s mom Lynn Forbes sat down with East Coast Radio’s Carol Ofori to chat about how she’s dealing with the death of her son, just days before she has to endure her first Mother’s Day without him. Lynn described what the morning of AKA’s death looked like, before he headed for Durban for the gig he unfortunately never made it to.

The mom of two explained that Kairo has been staying with AKA for the week and the rapper asked her to wake him up before she takes the seven-year-old to school in the morning. So, she did and he told his only child that he loved her and he will miss her — as she was going to go back to her mom’s home.

AKA shares Kairo with South African DJ Ntombezinhle Jiyane, popularly known as DJ Zinhle.

“He told her, ‘Daddy’s gonna miss you. I can’t wait for you to be back and always remember that daddy loves you,” she said on The Carol Ofori Podcast.
