Fans are upset for not bringing Eduardo Franco’s Argyle in season 5 of Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things.’

Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp has created a bit of a squabble, which led the actor to a huge public backlash. Schnapp posted an Instagram story in November while the actor and his friends were hanging out in a coffee shop. The controversy started as they passed around stickers that explicitly pointed towards the recent Israel-Palestine war.

It didn’t end there, the stickers caught the attention of his fans, and the actor soon lost 490,000 Instagram followers in just 30 days, while more than 11,000 fans on X decided to unfollow the star. Now, Stranger Things is in another debacle as the showrunners took a hard pass on bringing one fan-favorite character in season 5.
Stranger Things Actor Said He Never Got A Call For Season 5

Eduardo Franco has been on a mission to forge his resume with roles that are worthy of celebration. The Package and The Binge star appeared in season 4 of Netflix’s acclaimed sci-fi drama series Stranger Things, and fans have embraced the actor and his character Argyle. However, as a photograph of the season 5 cast list surfaced on the internet, fans missed Franco. It was a clear hint that he may not return to the show. In a recent interview with Steve Varley, the actor just confirmed what fans feared. “I appreciate that,” Franco answered to fans and Varley’s concern.
“I’m, it’s uh, it’s nice, it’s nice to hear that there’s there’s some sort of uh you know concern or something you know what I mean? But uh I’ve never I never got a phone call. So, I think uh yeah I think that’s it.”
Franco recently appeared on all-rounder Jake Johnson’s written, produced, directed, and starrer film Self Reliance. Franco played a PA Ninja in the 2023 comedy, and he described his appearance in the film as special to him.
Fans Are Outraged For Not Bringing Argyle

Clearly, Franco’s Argyle has won the hearts of millions as they came in support of the actor after the showrunners refused to bring the character back on season 5 of Stranger Things. His comment on the update, however, reflected that the actor was open to joining the show again for the final season run at Netflix. However, the showrunners left no room for the character.
As per reports and the cast photo, the Stranger Things season 5 stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, and Brett Gelman. The filming for season 5 is already in motion. The release date of the show is yet to be confirmed, but expected to hit the streamer in 2025.
