“It costs a lot of money.. It was a terrible tragedy”: Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson’s Fast 7 Was Chaotic Because of Studio’s Decision With Paul Walker Role
Recently, Vin Diesel talked openly about the enormous difficulties of finishing Fast & Furious 7 following the untimely passing of co-star Paul Walker. Walker died in 2013, interrupting filming, leaving the studio with the difficult decision of how to approach his unfinished scenes as Brian O’Conner.

Diesel claimed that finishing Walker’s role under duress resulted in turmoil, intense feelings, and additional expenses for the 2015 action sequel. But he thinks that the movie did justice to their friend’s memory in the end.
The Tragic Loss of Paul Walker: Challenges in Completing Fast & Furious 7
After Paul Walker passed away midway through filming, the studio had to figure out how to finish Brian’s scenes while also coping with the sadness of the cast and crew. Vin Diesel claimed this caused chaos as writers scrambled to rewrite the script to give Brian a befitting farewell.

“It costs a lot of money and a lot of time to do. It was a terrible tragedy and he had a third of the movie to go,” he continued. “People don’t really realize how much of the movie he had left. They worked around it and it was hard.”
Walker could not film, so the crew had to fill in for him with CGI and stand-ins, including his brothers. Diesel claimed that implementing these sophisticated solutions took additional effort and resources.
Cast Unity and Love for Paul Walker’s Memory
Diesel acknowledged that tensions were high as the cast grappled with Walker’s tragic passing and the need to please the audience. He admitted that under the strain of the circumstances, he and co-star Dwayne Johnson occasionally got into arguments.

Reflecting the Fast Family Mentality and Success in Honoring Walker
The Fast and Furious actor thinks Brian’s parting in Furious 7 brought closure despite the obstacles. Walker’s character was retired, and the cast gave him a fitting on-screen send-off by allowing him to live out his days peacefully with his family.
