Comedian Jo Koy’s life turned into a nightmare since he has hosted the 81st Annual Golden Globes but famous Academy Awards host came forward to rescue him.

Jo Koy has been making headlines for a few days. Well, the comedian and host stirred controversy when he jokingly called Greta Gerwig’s 2023 blockbuster a film adaptation of “a plastic doll with big b*obs” at the award function.
However, Gerwig didn’t seem to mind it as she later confronted Koy, saying, “he’s not wrong.” She came to rescue the host after his words had already created chaos online among the Barbie fandom.

Koy has been constantly getting negative reviews for his hosting gig at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards. But after the Barbie director, Steve Martin, stepped forward to save him after his life had almost become a nightmare.
Jo Koy’s Golden Globes Nightmare Gets Steve Martin’s Silver Lining
Steve Martin
The 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards was Jo Koy‘s first hosting gig. He was chosen to helm an exciting night on Sunday, January 7, but he was unaware that it would turn against him.
On the award night, after mocking everyone from Meryl Streep to Taylor Swift and he then shifted his focus to Barbenheimer, drawing boos from the crowd.
For this, he had to face severe backlash online, but he put the blame on scriptwriters. The former NBC’s Saturday Night Live host, Steve Martin, came to his rescue. He noted on his Threads account (@stevemartinreally):
“I tip my hat to anyone who steps out on stage to host a live awards show. It’s a very difficult job and not for the squeamish. I know because I’m still throwing up from the last time I did it in 2010. So, congratulations to Jo Koy, who took on the toughest gig in show business, hit, missed, was light on his feet, and now has twenty minutes of new material for his stand up!”
The legendary Martin, who has hosted the Academy Awards by himself twice and once with Alec Baldwin, knows the value of his profession. And for him, in no way is hosting (that too on a big platform) a piece of cake.
