Hailey Bieber’s anticipated interview on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast was released on Wednesday, and the model didn’t hold back as she spoke out about her husband Justin Bieber’s former relationship with his ex Selena Gomez. As most will probably know, Hailey has found herself being the target of cyber bullies, who have taunted her, saying she’s the reason why Jelena are no longer together.
During her chat with host Alex Cooper, the 25-year-old – who never mentions Selena by her name – said she actually shares a lot of respect for the Disney alum, insisting that there’s no personal drama between them. According to Hailey, she has actually spoken to Selena since marrying Justin back in 2018 — a conversation which apparently “brought me a lot of peace.” She added, “That’s why I’m like, it’s all respect. It’s all love.”
“That’s also why I feel like if everybody on our side knows what happened and we’re good and we could walk away from it with clarity and respect, then, like, that’s fine.” She also touched on a rumor that she “stole” Justin from his former flame, adding, “When him and I ever started, like, hooking up or like anything of that sort, he was not ever in a relationship — ever, at any point. … It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship, I would just never do that. I was raised better than that. I’m not interested in doing that.”
“I think that there are situations where you can still kind of have, like, back and forth with someone, but even that was not the situation. I can say, period, point blank: I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody. That’s the end of it. And I had been involved with him since I was 18.”
Hailey and Justin first met back in 2009 through her father Stephen Baldwin, but their romance didn’t start until 2015, during which time JB was back and forth with Selena, whom he finally called it quits with in 2018. Months later, he reconciled with Hailey and the pair decided to get married — but some fans have run with the narrative that there was an overlap in both relationships, which Hailey has vehemently denied.
Last year when Hailey attended the Met Gala with Justin, she was bombarded with people chanting “Selena” as she walked the carpet and seemingly broke out into tears. In an effort to cover up her watery eyes, she put on a pair of sunglasses, which she wore for the remainder of her time while getting her photos snapped at the annual fashion event.
