Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa‘s causes of d_e@th have been revealed, and it’s so heartbreaking…
The two were found dead in their New Mexico home under mysterious conditions late last month. According to local officials on Friday during a press conference per TMZ and People, investigators determined Betsy, 65, died on February 11 due to Hantavirus, a rare and very serious flu-like disease, which is inked to rodent droppings, that can be fatal. The 11th was the last day she was seen in public and sent outward communication, via email, to anyone.

The 95-year-old actor, however, passed away about a week later on February 18. His pacemaker’s last recorded activity was on that day when it picked up an abnormal rhythm and cardiac activity was registered by the device the day prior.
An autopsy determined he had a history of cardiovascular disease as well as advanced Alzheimer’s. He also had a history of high blood pressure and heart attacks. Authorities determined heart disease was his cause of d_e@th
But if Betsy died so many days before Gene, why didn’t he call 911? Investigators stressed that Gene was in very bad health and that his Alzheimer’s may have caused him to be confused. They’re not even sure if he knew his wife had died because of his memory issues. Heartbreaking.
Officials also ruled out carbon monoxide and gas leaks. The cause of d_e@th for their dog is still pending. He had undergone a procedure at a veterinary clinic and was in a crate when he was found dead.
