Francia Raísa admitted she didn’t talk to Selena Gomez for six years.
The “How I Met Your Father” star got candid about her rocky friendship with the Rare Beauty founder following their reconciliation over the summer.
“It’s still crazy to me that people were invested in our friendship,” she told USA Today in an article published Thursday.
“I don’t know why the timing happened the way it did, but I remember being in St. Tropez in June and I kept talking about her. We hadn’t spoken much in six years. Especially the last year, we didn’t speak at all.”
It wasn’t until July when Gomez posted an Instagram tribute for Raísa’s 35th birthday that the duo decided it was time to reunite.

“I don’t know why the universe decided this timing … then she reached out and said, ‘Let’s talk,’” the “Secret Life of the American Teenager” alum explained.
Raísa, 35, and Gomez, 31, iconicly made headlines in August when they stepped out for the first time together at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, Calif.
That night, the besties came to an agreement that they had “no beef, just salsa.”

“We’ve never really had beef with each other,” Raísa continued. “Nothing happened, and if you ask either of us, we don’t know what happened but we needed that time apart.
“Then when you come back together, you’re better people. She and I are still getting to know each other again.”
The duo’s time apart raised eyebrows, especially after Raísa donated a kidney to Gomez in 2017.

Feud rumors between the actresses escalated when the “Wizards of Waverly Place” star referred to her close pal Taylor Swift as her “only friend in the industry” during a Rolling Stone interview in November 2022
At the time, Raísa reportedly responded to the comment highlighted on an Instagram post, writing, “Interesting.” She also unfollowed the singer on Instagram.
Gomez then took to TikTok to say, “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.”

Meanwhile, Raísa explained she didn’t regret giving a kidney to the “Lose You to Love Me” songstress despite their fallout.
“The relationship has always been there,” she told US Weekly. “There was just a tiff.”
Raísa later went on to profit from the rift as she promoted her line of La Victoria salsas by posing in “No Beef, Just Salsa” T-shirts with Gomez to announce the launch.
