Florence Pugh was left shocked as she was hit in the face by an object thrown from the crowd during a “Dune: Part Two” panel at Comic-Con in São Paolo, Brazil, on Sunday.
The incident took place when Pugh, 27, stood alongside her co-stars Timothée Chalamat, Austin Butler, Zendaya and more as they posed for photographs close to the edge of the stage.
The unidentified object appeared to come from the audience above and landed directly on Pugh’s eye, according to a social media video. As she exclaimed “Ow,” Chalamat, Butler, 32, and Zendaya, 27, all looked to the floor to see what it was.
The “Wonka” actor, 27, for his part, appeared to lean over and ask “Are you okay?” to Pugh.
Prior to the moment, the “Oppenheimer” actress appeared to be in good spirits with the rest of the cast.

“I had an amazing time coming in and just hanging around with these people, let alone actually getting to work with them,” she said. “Coming in here — the power in this room — is because of that first movie, and we felt that when we went on set every single day. So it feels really, really special being here with the second one.”
The “Little Women” star is just the latest victim of the disturbing trend where fans throw items at performer’s onstage.
In June, a fan threw a glass of liquid on Cardi B as she performed at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas, while Kelsea Ballerini had an object thrown at her face during a performance on her Heartfirst tour that same month.

“I’m fine. Someone threw a bracelet and it hit me in the eye, and it more so just scared me than hurt me. We all have triggers and layers of fears way deeper than what is shown, and that’s why I walked offstage to calm down and make sure myself, band and the crew and the audience felt safe to continue,” she wrote via Instagram Story the next day after the Boise, Idaho, show at Outlaw Field at the Idaho Botanical Garden.
“That’s all I ever want, is for shows to feel like a safe place for all of us. I love you and appreciate your concern,” she continued.
Another incident occurred in June to Bebe Rexha when she was struck in the face by a cell phone during a concert in New York City. She was escorted off the stage and had to receive stitches above her eyebrow by a medical team.
The singer was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, while the 27-year-old man involved was arrested.

Adele, meanwhile, spoke out about concertgoers “throwing” objects during one of her Las Vegas residency shows in July.
“Have you noticed how people are forgetting f—ing show etiquette at the moment. People are throwing s— on stage. Have you seen that?” asked Adele, 35, according to a fan video, before joking: “I f—ing dare you — I dare you throw something at me. I’ll f—ing kill you.”
While using a t-shirt cannon at one point, she noted: “Stop throwing things at the artist, but you can shoot things at people. It’s a total reverse. I’ve gotta go back over and give my t-shirt gun back.”
She added: “These people have lost it. Can you imagine?”
