Before becoming as famous as she is now, Cardi B had a miserable past. In an interview in 2018, Cardi B frankly recounted the past that embarrassed her:  “Cardi was very embarrassed back then, because of that striptease job. To this day, I still remember the humiliation of the first months of my job. Back then, I cried all the time after work, because I kept thinking about how disappointed my parents were when they found out I was doing this job.”
