MLB and NFL view of stadium

Today is a special day in the world of sports.

Sports fans will be treated to games in all four major U.S. leagues on Monday.

October 30th marks the 30th ‘Sports Equinox’ in history, with games taking place across the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and MLS.

The rare Sports Equinox typically only occurs in October because the NFL is in the middle of its season, the NHL and NBA are just beginning and the MLB is deep into the World Series.

Monday’s sports equinox will include Game 3 of the World Series, Monday Night Football, 11 NBA matchups, and nine NHL games.

The first ever Sports Equinox was recorded on Oct. 17, 1971, with 12 NFL games, three NBA games, six NHL games, and one MLB game.

Just before today, fans were treated to a busy day on Sept. 10, 2020, that included the NFL, MLB, NBA, WNBA, MLS, tennis, and NHL because of the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily suspending sports.
