The Tesla Cybertruck, made of wood by Vietnamese workers has a very high finish.

Mr. Truong Van Dao’s ND-Woodworking Art Youtube channel from Bac Ninh can be said to be one of the outstanding channels about cars, attracting a lot of attention from domestic and foreign viewers.

On this channel, Mr. Dao regularly posts videos of himself and his team building cars based on a real model, but the difference is that he makes his own frame and always uses wood as the shell. The Tesla Cybertruck is the channel’s latest.

According to the channel’s description, this wooden electric pickup took him about 100 business days. The process of making the wooden Cybertruck began when he welded metal rods to make the frame for the car. Later, he added suspension, steering, disc brakes, and an electric motor.

In addition to the metal frame, he uses wood to make the shell and interior of the car. If the Audi Skysphere Concept, with its many curves and cuts that weren’t enough to trouble him, gave him the opportunity to visit the Audi plant in Germany, a pickup truck with a Cybertruck design couldn’t be an obstacle. The cutouts on the body look very nice and fit together.

Not only stopping at the frame and shell, Mr. Dao’s team also made the wheels, which were also wooden and closely imitated the design of the original. In addition, the wooden Tesla Cybertruck of the Vietnamese team also has rearview mirrors, rain wipers, and a full interior, from Tesla’s Yoke-style steering wheel to entertainment screen.

The thoughtfulness of the Tesla Cybertruck project can also push the excitement of fans of this model to the extreme; appearing in the video is a wooden ATV off-road vehicle, the same type that Tesla introduced with the Cybertruck.

Shortly after the video of the process of building the Tesla Cybertruck appeared on Dao’s channel, the American car website Carbuzz posted an article about the car. The article has a description that can be clearly compared to the original version when talking about the carefully measured and cut wooden case, showing the rugged, angular design of the Cybertruck; notably, there are fewer openings in the fuselage than in test versions of the road-driven Cybertruck.

In fact, Tesla has struggled to develop the Cybertruck from a prototype to a commercial product. Recently, Elon Musk himself confessed that “we dig our own hole with the Cybertruck.”

That’s talking about the complexity of making this model. The Tesla Cybertruck is equipped with tempered glass and an all-cold-rolled stainless steel body up to 3mm thick. Since its launch in 2019, Tesla has received about 1 million orders for this model. The first delivery will take place at the end of November with a very small number of vehicles.
