TESLA fans have waited years for the first Cybertruck deliveries – and they weren’t shy about venting their anger as the truck’s launch party started behind schedule on Thursday.

Angry fans took to Musk’s own X platform, formerly Twitter, to criticize Tesla’s late start to the highly-anticipated launch.

The event started more than 20 minutes after its original 3 pm schedule.

“Whats the delay,” a Tesla fan wrote. “Event needs to start! Anyone at the event to give some insights?”

The first Cybertrucks were initially scheduled for release in late 2021, but supply chain shortages and manufacturing issues brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic delayed the launch.

“Tesla Cybertruck delivery (with fitting delay),” another joked.

Another person compared Tesla’s event to Apple’s releases.

“Tim Cook is always on time,” they wrote.

However, some customers praised the truck’s design.

“I’m gonna come forward and say it. Cybertruck is mad cool,” one person gushed.

INSIDE THE EVENT

Elon Musk originally announced the launch of the Cybertruck four years ago – today’s launch is Tesla’s highly-anticipated forray into the electric truck market.

“These things are rare,” Musk said, standing on the truck’s bed in Tesla’s Austin, Texas, factory.

“This is one of those times. We have a car that experts said was impossible.”

Musk claimed the truck is made from proprietary metal created by Tesla.

He called the car “smooth as silk and quiet.”

The company delivered the first 10 trucks to consumers on the truck’s waiting list at the event.

“You just press this button over here,” Musk repeatedly told customers who received their trucks, pointing to a B-pillar latch.

CYBERTRUCK SPECS

Tesla said the car will start at $60,990 and feature 250 miles of range.

The company originally claimed the car would sell for $39,900 in 2019.

An all-wheel drive option will set customers back $79,990 and provide 340 miles of range.

The truck raced from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds and did the quarter-mile in 11 seconds.

In a produced video, the Cybertruck beat a Porsche 911 in a drag race – while towing a Porsche 911.

The truck features unconventional design details, including a pitched, angular roofline and one gigantic front windshield wiper.

Musk boasted about the Cybertruck’s unconventional design last year, saying the vehicle is bulletproof and may even be turned into a boat.
