Emma Watson recently found herself in the hot waters after she shared her support for Brad Pitt’s Gin Company, The Gardener, which is set to fully launch in September this year. Although the actress had a funny exchange with her brother on social media while promoting the Babylon star’s Gin Company, fans of the actress weren’t quite relished by this exchange.

Considering that Watson is a self-confessed feminist and was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women in 2014, showcasing support for Pitt has garnered a lot of backlash for the actress.

Internet slams Emma Watson for showcasing support for Brad Pitt

Unlike his professional career, Brad Pitt‘s love life hasn’t been the smoothest over the last few years, and the actor has found himself in severe controversies following his divorce from Angelina Jolie. Considering that the Seven star was accused of domestic abuse by his ex-wife, the actor garnered several controversies despite denying the accusations from Jolie. And now, Emma Watson‘s support for Pitt’s Gin company wasn’t well received by the fans, as they called the actress a “hypocrite” for showcasing support for an alleged abuser, despite being a feminist.

Reacting to the situation, one Reddit user stated “Are there any women in Hollywood with a backbone to stand up for their fellow women? I’m so tired”. Another stated, “She’s the worst of the White Hollywood Feminists”, while another bashed Watson by stating “What a [expletive] hypocrite”.

Although the backlash against the actress doesn’t seem to slow down anytime soon, it isn’t the first time when Emma Watson made headlines for a situation involving Brad Pitt.

Emma Watson faked having a crush on Brad Pitt

During her initial days in the realm of Hollywood, just like her onscreen character, Hermione, Emma Watson struggled to make friends and would try really hard to blend in with others. This involved her faking a crush on Brad Pitt, who was already a huge name in the industry by then, after being part of several classics. However, she revealed that even though she faked having a crush on Pitt in a desperate attempt to make friends, the actress had no idea who Pitt was at the time. She said,

“I watch interviews that I did when the first movie came out and I was so lost! I would think, ‘What do young girls talk about? What do they say?’ ‘I like going shopping and I have a crush on Brad Pitt.’ And I had no idea who Brad Pitt really was… It makes me sad because I see this girl trying so much to fit in.”
