A WOMAN who was an extra on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has shared secrets from her time on the set – including just what Emma Watson was like behind the scenes.

Samantha Clinch was 13 when she starred as Eloise Midgen in the 2005 film, alongside Daniel Radcliffe as Harry, Emma as Hermione Granger and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley.

She’s been opening up about her time shooting the film in videos on her TikTok page, revealing that she’d initially been cast as a “humble extra”.

Then director Mike Newell spotted her in the crowd, and asked if she wanted to play what she described as the “most niche character in the Harry Potter films”.

She was then whisked around to the trailers, where she spent two hours having prosthetic acne attached to her face.

“To make the puss, they used Carmex so whenever I smell Carmex now, I’m a bit sick in my mouth,” Samantha laughed.

Samantha spent a lot of her time in the trailer with Emma, as she recalled in the TikTok clip.

“Not a bad word to say about Emma, lovely girl,” she said,

“So kind to me. We got on really, really well. She’s lovely.”

She then went on to add: “The only thing I’ll say is that she was pretty demanding – pretty demanding for some highlights, actually, when we were in that trailer.

“She wanted some highlights and…” Samantha then just let the sentence drift off.

She also revealed that the food that they ate in the Great Hall was largely real, and the children on the set were also given snacks throughout filming – particularly Squares bars and iced buns.

Samantha shot several scenes for the movie that ended up being cut – including a waltzing scene with Daniel and a scene where Dumbledore (the late Michael Gambon) “spat in” her face.

“The moment I found out that it got cut was when I was at the cinema – the most brutal time to find out that these scenes aren’t there,” she said.

However, Daniel ended up sending her a bouquet of flowers thanking her for being a “wonderful dance partner” to cheer her up after hearing that the scene was cut.

Despite that, Samantha remembers her time on the set incredibly fondly.

“I don’t know how to express how much the time of my life filming these films were,” she said.

“It was genuinely the most incredible time of my life.”

Samantha now works as a voiceover artist.
