Before becoming famous, Robin Williams and Christopher Reeve were both students. No one knew who they were, but both were determined to become successful in Hollywood. In 1973, they met and were two of 20 students accepted to The Juilliard School. He will often share his food with me. And then after the accident, just looking at Chris’s bright smile, I knew how much he meant to so many people.”

During their time at Juilliard, they learned and forged friendships that lasted a lifetime. As Chris said, “I’m so grateful that fate brought us together. Started acting career

Reeve also took on a role in the CBS soap opera Love of Life with supporting actress. Survived an accident

Chris was in a lot of pain and had to undergo a dangerous surgery. The closer he got to the surgery date, the more pain and fear he felt knowing he had a 50% chance of survival.

Recalling that moment, he said, “The door opened, and a man wearing a uniform and a surgical cap walked in. He said he was my colorectal surgeon and he came to check on me. I thought I was under the influence of painkillers or my brain was failing, but it was Robin. That was the first time since the accident that I smiled. My old friend helped me know that somehow everything would be okay.”

The bond is unbreakable

Chris confessed, “He was with me for a while and said he would do anything for me. I think, not only do I have a wife and children, but I also have friends like Robin who really care about me. Maybe I can be okay. I mean, it’s going to be different and it’s going to be a big challenge, but I can still laugh and have a little bit of fun.”

Christopher Reeve became an activist who, by speaking out about paralysis and advocating for research into spinal cord injuries, helped improve the quality of life for those affected.
