In a interview for her film, The Perks of being a Wallflower, Emma Watson spoke of her character Sam and her relationships with men and drew parallels to her life. Watson elaborated on the two men in Sam’s life, Charlie, who loved her unconditionally and Craig who destroyed her and said that she had experienced a couple of men like the latter in her life, before finding true love.

“I mean, I’ve never talked about my dating experiences, but yes,I have to confess that there have been one or two Craigs there, and a Charlie as well”.

Watson also added that she was not a fan of speculative reports that spread false rumors about her love life, especially those that linked her to an actor who she was working with at the time. The star concluded that she preferred to be the one to break any sort of news about herself when the time was right.
