Darren Aronofsky is known for making dark, gritty, intense movies and his 2014’s Noah was an intense take on the famous biblical story Noah’s ark. Later, actress Emma Watson discussed the intense working environment for the movie.

Emma Watson revealed that she fell sick during filming the movie because of the extensive demand for the role. Because of the movie’s environmental message, the film crew was prohibited from using plastic bottles and were alloted with limited resources. Due to the extreme circumstances, the actress started to feel sick but was denied rest and asked to use her illness for the role. She further stated,

“Everything we used had to be recycled or recyclable. Having no water bottles on set at five in the morning, when you’re exhausted and delirious, wasn’t ideal. I came in the next day and was like ‘Darren, I don’t think I can do this, I’m sick. He was like: ‘Use it for the scene.’ And I turned round to the bus and was like: ‘Is he joking? He is joking right?’ and there was deadly silence.”

Due to the extensive pressure in the three months of filming, the Little Women actress was severely exhausted and didn’t even leave her apartment for a long while. But the actress emphasized that her Harry Potter experience helped her in getting through this.

Although the filming was challenging, the actress didn’t give up and finished her job and provided another astonishing performance by overcoming the difficulties. The actress also mentioned her filming days from Harry Potter helped her in getting through this intense scenario.

Emma Watson remembered the time when Darren Aronofsky asked her to be physically prepared before a very demanding scene in cold water which made her terrified. But the actress relaxed after a while and calmed herself by recalling the shooting days from Harry Potter, which were extremely tough, and for her, nothing was going to be harder than that. The actress went on to state,

“It’s kind of comforting in a way to know that in some senses, nothing will be as hard as that again, and I’m pretty prepared for most things people can throw at me, whether it be animals, water, stunts, CGI, whatever it is.”
