November 09, (THEWILL) – Afrobeats singer and songwriter, signed to Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) record label, Daniella Daniel, better known as Morravey, disclosed that she dropped Medicine and Surgery for music when she was in 300 level.

She made this known to all and sundry in a recent interview with City 105.1FM, days after she released her debut EP, ‘Ravi’ which is a name coined from her stage name, Morravey, consisting of 5 tracks.

She said, earlier this year in January she went for a church programme where she fasted and prayed and by extension told God that she was tired of medicine and surgery she was studying at the University because the course wanted to end her life.

Morravey, while narrating the story, asked God to reignite her passion for Medicine and Surgery. If not, she’s got music, and she’s counting on divine guidance in that direction.

She revealed that Afrobeats superstar, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, texted her, interpreting it as a divine sign to depart from Medicine and Surgery. Despite being on the brink of entering her third year at River State University, she had consistently expressed her weariness of the field to her parents, who steadfastly supported her.

The singer noted that as Davido reached out to her, she stopped school and could not face her parents alone and had to call on Davido to talk to her parents.

Morravey emphasised that in the end, it’s all about securing the bag and didn’t rule out the possibility of returning to school in the future.
