FACEBOOK boss Mark Zuckerberg has been eyeing up a luxury £300million megayacht which is currently being built in the Netherlands.

The tech billionaire, worth an estimated £93billion, is said to have been seen touring the boat known as Project 1010 during its construction with insiders hoping he will be its next owner.

The 387ft ship, which is currently believed to be owned by an unknown mystery billionaire, is under construction in Dutch shipyard Feadship and completed its sea trials last year.

The ship has a maximum speed of 20 knots, and an average cruising speed of 12 knots.

It can also accommodate 24 guests, and 48 crew members.

Pictures taken from on its first outing show it has a main deck swimming pool and large helipad with a hangar on the upper deck.

It also appears to have a unique pod-style skylounge encased by curved glass.

Not much else is known about the ship, but it has been reported to contain an expansive beach club on board, with a swimming platform and an observation lounge perched above.

Zuckerberg has previously denied being the owner of a £150million yacht called Ulysses.

It was reported in 2017 that he had quietly splashed out on the 1351ft vessel while in Monaco.

The ship has a helicopter pad, five lounges, eight dining rooms, five bars, a gym, a spa, a massage room, a wine tasting room, and a cinema.

Ulysses was also reported to be “apocalypse proof” as it was designed to “cruise halfway around the world without any need for fuel refilling and is planned to sustain the hardest climate situations.”

But his spokesperson was quick to deny the reports and said in a statement: “The reports related to Mark purchasing a yacht are completely inaccurate as he did not buy a yacht.”

They added: ”Mark did not buy it, does not own a yacht and was not involved in the sale.”

Zuckerberg owns Meta, formerly known as Facebook, which also runs Instagram and WhatsApp.

He has recently been pictured training for his proposed cage fight with Twitter owner Elon Musk.

He had competed in his first Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament earlier this year before revealing in November that he had undergone surgery to repair a torn ACL.

Sharing a picture from a hospital bed, he wrote on Instagram: “Tore my ACL sparring and just got out of surgery to replace it.

“Grateful for the doctors and team taking care of me.

“I was training for a competitive MMA fight early next year, but now that’s delayed a bit.

“Still looking forward to doing it after I recover.

“Thanks to everyone for the love and support.”

Mark Zuckerberg and Feadship did not respond to The Sun’s requests for comment.

Zuckerberg would be the latest in the string of billionaire’s splashing out on superyachts, following the likes of Amazon’s Jeff Bezos.

Recently, Bezos asked for a historic Dutch bridge to be dismantled to make space for his gigantic 417ft superyacht Koru to leave the shipyard where it was built.

He was eventually towed away after Rotterdam residents threatened to pelt the luxury vessel with eggs if the landmark bridge was removed.

The Amazon founder’s monster vessel was relocated from the Oceanco shipyard in Alblasserdam to the Greenport yard just 24 miles away in Rotterdam, according to Der Spiegel.
