While some celebrity couples are open about their relationships and even pack on some PDA on a carpet from time to time, other couples like to keep things quiet. For Jennifer Garner and her boyfriend John Miller of 4+ years, the latter couldn’t be more true. In fact, to this day the two have yet to make a public appearance together and are only rarely photographed by paparazzi.

Here’s what we know about Miller: he’s a businessman and an attorney who currently works as the CEO of CaliBurger and its parent company, CaliGroup, per Elle. In addition, much like Garner, Miller’s also been married before. According to People, Miller was married to violinist Caroline Campbell and filed for divorce in 2011. Miller and Campbell share two kids together.

For Garner, who has three kids and two previous marriages (to Scott Foley from 2000 to 2004 and Ben Affleck from 2005 to 2018), the two seem like a perfect match. The two met in 2018 and besides a brief split in 2020, appear to be going strong to this day.

Previous Marriages

Both Miller and Garner have been married before. Though Miller filed for divorce from his wife Caroline Campbell in 2011, Garner finalized her divorce with Ben Affleck much later in 2018. Not long after, she met Miller.

Three Plus Two Makes Five

Garner had three kids during her marriage with Affleck, Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 10. Given that Miller has two kids from his previous marriage, the two have five kids together.

According to Us Weekly, however, it took a while for all the kids to know each other. “John’s kids finally met Jen’s kids,” a source told the outlet about Garner’s 50th birthday celebration in April 2022. “Lots of kids and family were invited, including John’s kids, his parents, his brother, and his [brother’s] wife.”

A Casual Start

On Oct 2018, news broke that Garner and Miller were dating for about six months. Given that her marriage to Affleck wasn’t even finalized yet (it finalized in November), the two reportedly kept it casual in the beginning. “They are casually dating but it’s not serious,” a source told People.

Needing a Break

In August 2020, Garner and Miller allegedly went on a break because they weren’t on the same page. Per Us Weekly, Miller “was ready for marriage” while Garner “just couldn’t commit.” After confirming she was single in an interview with People in March, the two got back together by May 2021.

Looking Long-Term

With their differing views on marriage behind them, Miller and Garner went back to going strong. According to an Us Weekly source on Jan 25, Garner “sees a long-term future with him” and she’s really happy with their current dating situation.

“She’s just decided after a lot of thought that she’s just not in a hurry to rush down the aisle just yet and that she feels perfectly happy cherishing and enjoying what they have — for now — without a formal label,” the source added.

He’s ‘Stepdad Material’

“[Ben Affleck] is very pleased Jen has found a guy to make her happy, someone who clearly treats her well and who’s respectful to their kids,” a source said to OK about John Miller.

Another source said to the same publication, “John has run the gauntlet to show that he’s husband and stepdad material, which meant he had to prove himself not just to Jennifer but to Ben as well. Luckily, he’s passed all those tests with flying colors.”

Her Biggest Cheerleader

If you think Garner and Miller being ultra-private means he can’t be there during her big events, think again! According to an eyewitness to Us Weekly, Miller attended Garner’s premiere of her latest show The Last Thing He Told Me. Per the source, Miller met with Garner inside the event right after she walked the carpet and sat a couple of rows behind the actress when the screening began. Looks like he’s always there cheering her on no matter what!

Not Moving in Just Yet

Although Garner and Miller are still “going strong,” sources have recently talked about the two not being totally ready to move in together. “To invite another man into the house right now, one who has two teenaged children of his own, means her children would get even less time with her, and that’s just not an option,” a source told RadarOnline.

And though the two won’t be roommates anytime soon, Miller reportedly recently moved closer to Garner recently to shorten their distance. “[Miller] wanted to be near,” a source told Us Weekly. “Jen and John are perfectly happy with the way things are right now,” the source added. Bonding With His Daughter

Per UsMagazine, Jennifer Garner reportedly “offered” John Miller’s daughter Violet a cameo in her new Netflix film Family Switch. “Jennifer thought it was a great idea. Violet even auditioned,” an insider revealed. “John is definitely encouraging his daughter to go into acting because Jennifer loves it so much. Her artistic influence is really strong.”
