Alarming posts from X’s userbase has caused the platform to lose ad revenue from several major retailers

ELON Musk has shared a major improvement to X after several retailers, including Walmart, pulled their ads from the platforms – fans praised the bold new design.

X, formerly known as Twitter, has gone through several overhauls since the Tesla CEO purchased the website in October 2023 for $44billion.

On Friday, he shared an update on the video embedding feature, which allows users to embed video and broadcast players directly to their website or apps.

“Just copy and paste the URL, then go and get that embed,” read a tweet from the official Live account. “You’re welcome.”

Musk reposted the tweet with the caption: “Improved video embed.”

Users can easily embed a video or post with the provided HTML code by going to publish.x.com and using the URL from X.

Users praised the new change, with one person writing: “For the past 3 months, I have problem with embedding videos into my posts, I only get links. I hope this will help.”

“Tried it and it works,” wrote another user. “Also new colors and design are great.”

“Thank you X team for working to make this place the best place for everyone,” wrote a third person.

However, other users had critiques for the team such as adding display size options and improve transmission.

“Please considered the issues I mentioned above, although it looks similar to Youtube, I think it’s because of your user habits,” the person wrote. “[You] should learn from YouTube.”

The news comes as Walmart became the latest brand to pull ads from the platform.

Last week, the retialer announced that it would no longer be advertising on X.

“We aren’t advertising on X as we’ve found other platforms to better reach our customers,” said a Walmart spokesperson.

Since Musk took over, the platform has had issues with retaining advertisers.

Apple, Disney, and Warner Bros Discovery have also abandoned the platform.

Companies have raised concerns over a rising presence of antisemitic content on X.

In November, Musk appeared to agree with a post that said members of the Jewish community were promoting hate towards white people, which Musk called “the actual truth.”

He later apologized for replying to the antisemitic post at a New York Times DealBook event.

“I mean, look, I’m sorry for that…post,” he said.

“It was foolish of me. Of the 30,000, it might be literally the worst and dumbest post I’ve ever done.

“And I’ve tried my best to clarify six ways from Sunday, but you know at least I think it’ll be obvious that in fact, far from being antisemitic, I’m in fact philosemitic.”

However, Musk didn’t hold back his feelings when discussing advertisers leaving X.

“If somebody is going to try to blackmail me with advertising, blackmail me with money, go f**k yourself. Go f**k yourself. Is that clear? I hope it is,” he said.
