In a light hearted chat with former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Nigerian Afrobeat singer Davido details his journey into the Nigerian music scene.

Expressing his excitement he said, “So I’m honored to be here, you know, it’s a dream come true. You know, all the way from Africa to, you know, be here with all you guys, it’s cool.”

During The Kelly Clarkson show the Afro beats Star dressed in a pink sweater revealed to his host (Kelly Clarkson) that he grew up watching her and his sister is a huge fan.

“I must, I must say this, I grew up watching you and-Oh! – Yeah, my sister, my older sister was the biggest Kelly Clarkson fan.”

Kelly Clarkson who was in awe with Davido’s presence appeared shocked to hear that Davido grew up watching her.

Further in the interview Davido, unraveled layers of his musical journey and how his father was determined that he finished school and how his father had the influence to cancel his shows, making it hard for people to book him because the show might just be cancelled.

Kelly exclaimed, “Oh my God. He has that type of power” describing his life like a movie.

Davido also talks on his latest album “Timeless,” and reveals that he asked his label for four more months in the studio so that he could go back to his old neighborhood and reunite with his original African producers to finish the album.
